ORONO, MAINE - For nearly twenty years Maine schools and groups have been investing in robot programs as a means to engage and educate our youth.  It started with a few teams competing in the FIRST® Robotics Challenge (FRC), a program that has high school youth building robotics in a company like setting and solving real engineering challenges set before them.  This season Maine fielded 10 teams in the FRC out of 2,300 worldwide.

The two FIRST LEGO League teams were:
Team 4447, The Pickle I Ate Thi

s Morning from Conners Emerson School in Bar Harbor and
Team 7069, Sunny Side Up from Farmington
Of significant accomplishment was the Bar Harbor team, who earned 7th place in robot performance at the championship, second highest of any United States team.  That literally places them 7th out of 20,000 teams worldwide; way to go Pickles!
